Overview of the MDT HNT26 Chassis in the 110 Ultralite Elite
When we set out to make a world-class lightweight hunting rifle, the 110 Ultralite Elite, we selected what we consider to be some of the best components currently on the market. During development, our engineers felt that a Proof Research stainless steel carbon-wrapped barrel attached to our tried-and-true Savage 110 lightweight action would be the perfect barreled action, especially with the noted accuracy of Proof Research barrels and the adjustability of our proven AccuTrigger. For a stock system, we chose the HNT26 Chassis from MDT to compliment the barreled action, thus creating the ideal lightweight backcountry rifle. Let's take a closer look at the MDT HNT26 Chassis System!
MDT HNT26 CHASSIS SYSTEM
The MDT HNT26 Chassis System was purpose-built to be the best hunting chassis on the market today. At 26 ounces, the HNT26 is currently the lightest chassis available and is constructed of magnesium alloy and carbon fiber. A foam-filled buttstock with spacers allows for an adjustable length-of-pull and an adjustable comb, allowing personal customization for your body type. The model we selected for the 110 Ultralite Elite features a folding stock, which allows for the 110 Ultralite Elite to be stowed in a pack or reduce the overall size of the rifle to ease carry. The chassis also has a full-length ARCA, which allows the end-user to attach the rifle quickly to bipods and tripods. Another thing to highlight in the design is the lightweight flush magazine, flush magazine release, and smooth lines, all of which reduce snag points.
- Full-Length 11.9-inch ARCA Dovetail Forend: Provides a lot of flexibility when using bipods and tripods. Allows end-users to not only quickly make attachments but also make quick adjustments.
- M-LOK and QD ports on the forend and chassis: Attach sling attachments, Picatinny rails, and QD accessories like slings.
- Thumb Shelf: Provides a rest for your thumb to negate sympathetic movement during the firing process.
- Carbon Fiber Grip: Near vertical grip allows for a perfect 90-degree trigger press and does not feel as cold as conventional polymer grips.
- Adjustable Buttstock: Adjust comb height or length-of-pull for a perfect body fit.
- Materials & Finish: Cerakote Gun Metal Gray H-219 Magnesium chassis and Carbon fiber. Strong and lightweight.
