How To Remove the Bolt in Centerfire Bottom Bolt Release
The bolt release connects to the mechanism which will allow the bolt to be removed from the rifle's receiver. On some models, this button is located on the bottom of the rifle just in front of the trigger guard. These steps outlined below will walk you through how to remove the bolt assembly from rifles with this bottom bolt release.
Whenever cleaning or working on your firearm, be sure that it is fully unloaded and clear of ammunition. Safety should be your #1 concern around firearms.

Removal Steps:
- Safely remove the magazine. Check to make sure your firearm is unloaded and clear of ammunition.
- Push the bolt forward and move the safety to the fire position.
- Open the bolt and pull it fully rearward.
- Depress the bottom bolt release while pressing the trigger
- Pull the bolt rearward to remove
Reinstallation Steps:
- Depress the bottom bolt release while pressing the trigger
- Reinsert the bolt and close
- Move the safety to the SAFE position and reinstall the magazine
